Press Release: What’s New Summer 2017

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WEST SHORE CAFE TAPS TAHOE FOOD HUB AND OTHER LOCAL ORGANIC FARMERS TO OFFER THE FRESHEST SEASONAL INGREDIENTS ON SUMMER MENU

New Website Makes it Easier to Make Reservations, Check Lake Conditions and View Upcoming Events; Annual Deck Opening Party June 27 Celebrates Start to Summer Season on Lake Tahoe’s West Shore

HOMEWOOD, Calif. – June 19, 2017 – Summer travelers and foodies looking for fresh culinary experiences paired with stunning views of Lake Tahoe are invited to West Shore Cafe this summer. Led by Chef Ben Deinken, the restaurant’s experienced culinary team has developed its seasonal summer menu with locally sourced favorites like the peach and burrata salad and beer brined chicken, as well as creative new dishes including the “lobster corndog” that are not to be missed.

In addition, West Shore Cafe’s website was recently refreshed with improved navigation, making it easy for dining guests to book reservations and view upcoming events, menus and specials. A live webcam is also featured for visitors and locals to check lake conditions and get a live look at what’s happening on Lake Tahoe.

Over the past year, West Shore Cafe’s culinary team has developed strong relationships with local farmers, and has established itself as one of the largest supporters of the Tahoe Food Hub, a non-profit organization whose mission is to galvanize the community to build a regional, sustainable and equitable food system. Tahoe Food Hub increases market opportunities for small farms while increasing access to local, year-round food production from small farms within 100-miles from North Lake Tahoe.

“Summer is one of the most incredible times to be at Lake Tahoe, and we’re proud to feature the freshest ingredients available from the local and organic farms we work with,” said Ben Deinken, executive chef at West Shore Cafe. “Our summer menu was inspired by the flavor and freshness of the food from our farming partners, and we are dedicated to creating dishes that showcase them in a way that will make our dining guests only want more.”

In addition to full lunch and dinner menus, West Shore Cafe offers “Bar Bites” between services that include salad and snack options, as well as the popular West Shore Burger.

The restaurant’s summer wine list, designed by its three sommeliers, offers staple varietals while leaving room for new and unique products that contribute to West Shore Cafe’s well-rounded, world-encompassing offering. Specialty cocktails such as the “crawdaddy crush” and “pisco-lada” signal summer, and a selection of craft beers including options from local brewers is also available, with buckets of six beers starting at $25.

West Shore Cafe’s annual Deck Opening Party is scheduled on June 27 from 11 p.m. to 9 p.m., with local favorites Ike & Martin to perform from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. to help kick off the summer season.

Located on the shore of Lake Tahoe, West Shore Cafe is one of few restaurants where dining guests can step off a boat and dine on the pier, directly over Lake Tahoe’s clear water. Offering access to the buoy field and boat valet service, arriving by boat is the ultimate way to experience alfresco dining on Lake Tahoe’s west shore.

During the summer, the restaurant will be open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and for dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a limited menu of “Bar Bites” offered in between lunch and dinner service from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. West Shore Cafe offers both indoor and outdoor pier seating all summer long as conditions permit. Reservations are recommended for lunch and dinner service. Dining guests are encouraged to check the restaurant’s website prior to visiting as the restaurant is occasionally closed for weddings and other private events.

For those who want the ultimate convenience of staying and playing on the west shore, lodging packages at West Shore Cafe and Inn make it easy to make the most of a trip to the lake. New this summer, boat owners can receive $100 off their stay when booking two or more nights in a suite, room or villa and a one-day buoy rental from Homewood High & Dry Marina through September 28, 2017. To reserve this package, call 530.525.5200.
