The West Shore Café and Inn is the perfect home base for exploring the pristine West Shore of Lake Tahoe. Whether you want to get out on the water on a boat, kayak or stand-up paddleboard, cruise around the neighborhood on a bicycle, ski or snowshoe some of the classic trails nearby, our staff can provide endless information about the area.

Bike the West Shore

Ride on the paved bike path from Homewood down to Sugar Pine Point State Park and tour around the park, or head northeast to Tahoe City and link up with the Truckee River bike trail.

Kayaking & Paddleboarding

Kayaking and paddle boarding are great ways to get an intimate view of Lake Tahoe and what lies beneath its crystal clear waters.  Contact the Innkeeper if you’d like recommendations of where you can conveniently rent kayaks, paddleboards, and more.

SWA Watersports

Relax and soak up Tahoe’s beauty from the water. For those seeking a unique experience along Lake Tahoe’s West Shore, SWA Watersports offers a wide range of activities for the entire family. Boat Rentals, Pontoon Boat Rentals, Jet Ski Rentals, Watersports and Lessons, Tours and Private Charters and Fishing Charters. SWA launches boats directly from the West Shore Cafe pier.

Homewood High & Dry Marina

Located right next to the West Shore Cafe, boat storage at the Homewood High & Dry Marina is available annually, seasonally, monthly, weekly and daily. They offer both dry storage and buoy storage throughout the summer and during the winter boats are stored inside on dry racks.
