The Lakefront Summer Yoga Series
Join the Tahoe yoga community for an exciting, empowering, and unforgettable experience this summer on the West Shore. The West Shore Summer Yoga Series is your chance to experience the practice and the people that make Tahoe’s yoga community special. Each week will feature a different teacher from a local Tahoe yoga studio and classes will be held outdoors on the West Shore Café lawn. Each teacher brings principles of their own practice to their classes so there’s something for everybody and for every level of experience and interest. Teacher information and the class schedule will be posted to the webpage soon.
Price: $12 per class

Hanni began her yoga journey in 2006 when she moved to Lake Tahoe. Her yoga experience includes Vinyasa Flow, Anusara, Kripalu, Forrest, Iyengar and Ashtanga techniques. Hanni enjoys incorporating aspects she has learned from each of her teachers to create a unique Vinyasa Flow. Her classes combine breath, movement, and music while also creating awareness of body alignment. Upon completion of her 300-hour yoga teacher training in Bali, Indonesia, in 2011, Hanni began teaching Vibrant Vinyasa flow classes in her hometown of Homer, Alaska. Recently, she returned to Tahoe City and began to teach at Studio Tahoe and Tahoe Yoga Institute. Hanni is excited to share her knowledge of yoga with the community. Every day is an adventure and challenge with new opportunities and yoga brings it all together.
jenna's playful alignment based Vinyasa classes have been inspired by the teachings of Ashtanga, Anusara, Vinyasa, Iyengar, and Restorative. The utilization of appropriate adjustments are influenced by her extensive experience as a bodyworker, forming her classes into a balance of moving from the heart while honoring the physical "container." Jenna completed her training with Nikki Estrada through YogaWorks and continues to expand her knowledge with frequent workshops.
Jenna will be teaching alignment based Vinyasa. Vinyasa, having many translations such as ‘to move with the breath’ and ‘to place in a special way’ is used as a tool to warm up the body, increasing circulation and synovial fluid in the joints. When the body is warm, we are able to move deeper into each pose, feeling specific alignment adjustments initiated by the breath. The use of off-the-mat principals are utilized throughout this class, inviting the student to find deeper meaning of Asana practice.
Tammy made her way to yoga by way of weight training and Olympic lifting. Yoga became the perfect complement to Tammy’s background in weight training, nutrition and anatomy. And after three years of practice, she completed the Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training in the Berkshires and began teaching in Tahoe City. Specializing in Kripalu yoga, Tammy brings humor, compassion and a hint of astrology to each of her classes. Providing students with a safe environment, Tammy teachers her students to move with complete body awareness. A longtime resident of Tahoe City, Tammy lives in Tahoe City with her husband Eli and son Jasper.
