The West Shore Café and Inn will be hosting their third annual Bartender Competition on Sunday, February 26, 2016. Guaranteed to be a hit for both the competitors and the crowd, the event is open and free for all local Lake Tahoe bartenders to enter.
The competitors will be judged on three different categories and cocktails and each cocktail must use each of the liquors, , Whiskey, and Tequila. In addition to mixing with each liquor each bartender must create three cocktails that fit the three categories; batch, warm, and cold cocktail. Contestants can sign up on our website by submitting a cocktail for the batch part of the competition including ingredients, measurements, and what makes it so special.
We are accepting submissions from Monday, December 5, 2016 through Friday, January 20, 2017. The top 10 entries, as judged by a panel of experts, will be selected and announced on Sunday, January 22 and invited to compete in the finals on February 26 at the West Shore café and inn.
The competition will take place on Sunday, February 26 from 1-5 p.m. and the public is invited to attend and help review the cocktails. Tickets will be available for $10 presale or $15 at the door. Tickets will allow participants to judge the batch cocktail portion of the competition by sampling 10 different drinks.
The other two cocktails, that include a warm and cold, will be evaluated by a panel of judges.
Winners will be announced at the end of the competition and prizes will be awarded for the top three contestants and people's choice.
