West Shore Activities

The West Shore Café and Inn is the perfect home base for exploring the pristine West Shore of Lake Tahoe. Whether you want to get out on the water on a boat, kayak or stand-up paddleboard, cruise around the neighborhood on a bicycle, ski or snowshoe some of the classic trails nearby, our staff can provide endless information about the area.

Kayaking & Stand-Up Paddleboarding

Homewood kayak and SUP rentals are closed for the season.  
Kayaking and paddleboaring are great ways to get an intimate view of Lake Tahoe and what lies beneath its crystal clear waters. West Shore visitors can rent kayaks and SUP's across the street at Homewood durring the summer.

Bike the West Shore

Homewood bike rentals are closed for the season. 
Homewood also keeps a fleet of cruiser bikes available to lodging guests who'd like to explore the bike trails and back-country roads around the West Shore. Ride from Homewood down to Sugar Pine Point State Park and tour around the park, or head northeast to Tahoe City and link up with the Truckee River bike trail.

Boat Tours

Leave the Captain duties to someone else and step aboard the classic wooden yacht Wild Goose II for a cruise on Lake Tahoe. The boat is also available for rent for private parties. Click here for details...
