West Shore Activities

The West Shore Café and Inn is the perfect home base for exploring the pristine West Shore of Lake Tahoe. Whether you want to get out on the water on a boat, kayak or stand-up paddleboard, cruise around the neighborhood on a bicycle, or hike some of the classic trails nearby, our staff can help get you outfitted and on your way.

Kayaking & Stand-Up Paddleboarding

Lodging guests enjoy complimentary use of our fleet of stable flat-water kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, a great way to get an intimate view of Lake Tahoe and what lies beneath its crystal clear waters. Visitors can also rent kayaks and SUP's across the street at Homewood.

Bike the West Shore

Homewood also keeps a fleet of cruiser bikes available to lodging guests who'd like to explore the bike trails and back-country roads around the West Shore. Ride from Homewood down to Sugar Pine Point State Park and tour around the park, or head northeast to Tahoe City and link up with the Truckee River bike trail.
